Sun Salutations, or Surya Namaskar, is a contained, all-in-one practice in itself.
As you progress through its steady sequence of opposing actions—front-body offerings followed by the surrender of forward folds—a Namaskar integrates all the counter-asanas necessary to feel balanced in your body by the time you complete it.
It's a sequence of poses who lengthen and strengthen, flex and extend many of the main muscles of the body while distributing the prana flow throughout the system.
There are many sun salutation variations.
In my Variation of Sun Salutation the body lengthens while it warms up, strengthens the arm muscles and contracts the psoas muscle, our major hip flexor ( an important muscle for Hanumanasana pose/Monkey Pose, and Kapotanasana/Pigeon Pose).
I initially created this Sequence, cause I needed a strong Sun Salutation who at the same time had a slow graduation, so while it starts really slow, it gradually getting stronger and stronger, therefore the name Trojan Horse (Δούρειος Ίππος). At the same time since we are starting and ending our circle in balasana, it gives the time to my students to regain their energy.
