This Video is about the headstand Sirsasana, is a step by step guide for you to achieve this pose. Please take all the time you need to build up the strength and flexibility you need to be able to take advantage of this Head Balance Tutorial.

Contraindications and Cautions:


Back injury

Headache Heart condition

High blood pressure

Menstruation Neck injury

Low blood pressure: Don't start practice with this pose

Pregnancy: If you are experienced with this pose, you can continue to practice it late into pregnancy. However, don't take up the practice of Sirsasana after you become pregnant.

Sirsasana is considered to be an intermediate to advanced pose. Do not perform this pose without sufficient prior experience or unless you have the supervision of an experienced teacher. Some schools of yoga recommend doing Sirsasana before Sarvangasana, others vice versa.


*Sirsasana, or a yoga headstand, can be an energizing pose. It's also one of the more difficult poses to master and, if done incorrectly, can cause serious injury. It requires long hamstrings, flexible spine and shoulders, and solid upper body strength. It's important to ensure you're focused, conditioned, and using proper technique before attempting the pose on your own.

*There should be no pressure in the neck.
